Yes, there was an intriguing dialogue between Post-Impressionists such as Gauguin and Symbolists like Ensor and Munch....the latter group carried forward the Impressionists' burgeoning interest in the momentary perceptions of the artist to a privileging of his broader internal world and existential angst</description>
