I plan on using my blog to highlight the ties between art and science and discuss items that I come across that are especially illuminating regarding psychology and emotions…..and maybe do some of my own art writing….here is an interesting dissection of a recently uncovered gauguin masterpiece:

I think the link between art and science should prove and interest and endless topic for discussion. I am hoping there will be something on the Symbolism movement and in particular James Ensor who is a favorite of mine. Do you know of him? Let the blogging begin!

Yes, there was an intriguing dialogue between Post-Impressionists such as Gauguin and Symbolists like Ensor and Munch….the latter group carried forward the Impressionists’ burgeoning interest in the momentary perceptions of the artist to a privileging of his broader internal world and existential angst
