Jennifer Roberts, Psy.D.
Registered Psychological Assistant-PSB 35295
Jennifer Roberts, Psy.D. received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England. For the past eight years, Dr. Roberts has administered psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic assessments to children, adolescents, and adults, in order to obtain information related to cognitive, achievement, personality, social, and adaptive functioning. She has advocated for the educational needs of children and adolescents by participating in IEP meetings, consulting with parents, educators, and school administrators. By focusing on cognitive/emotional strengths and challenges, Dr. Roberts has facilitated the development of educational plans that meet the specific needs of the child and adolescent. Additionally, Dr. Roberts has conducted neuropsychological test batteries and screenings to determine the long-term cognitive/emotional effects of chronic medical illness and its treatment.

Dr. Roberts, in conjunction with her assessment training and work, has provided individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults across an array of sites, including psychiatric inpatient units (New Hampshire State Hospital and BHC Alhambra Hospital), Wellesley College counseling center, community mental health centers (Reiss-Davis Child Study Center, The Guidance Center Long Beach, and Miller Children's Abuse and Violence Intervention Center), and medical settings (Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and Jonathan Jacques Children's Cancer Center). Her treatment specialties include child and adolescent developmental transitions and issues, trauma and PTSD, medical trauma, loss and grief, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders.

Courtney L. Karp, Psy.D
I am licensed Clinical Psychologist, specializing in administering comprehensive Psychoeducational testing batteries, including identifying ADHD and Executive Dysfunction, with children as young as 6 through adulthood. I also provide individual and family psychotherapy with children, adults and adolescents. I feel there is an opportunity for growth and transformation while working through pain and trauma. I work from a relational model and believe in a collaborative approach. I assist individuals and families in gaining a deeper insight and understanding through identification and implementation of optimal ways to cope.

Terence Ford
Terence Ford has been a licensed marriage and family therapist since 2011. After receiving his MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, he interned at the Southern California Counseling Center, at a private high school in downtown Los Angeles, and in a private practice setting. He has completed specialized training in family therapy, teen counseling, working with depression and anxiety. He has completed the Certificate Program of the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies, and psychoanalytic therapy is a significant part of his practice. He has advanced degrees in music performance and history, and has worked many years in middle management of large non-profit organizations. He is also a certified hypnotherapist, and practices hypnotherapy as an adjunct to psychotherapy as well as for specific issues such as test anxiety, self-esteem, and stopping unwanted behaviors.

Terence is a member of the American Association of Family Therapists, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the National Guild of Hypnotherapists, and an affiliate member of the American Psychological Association.

Terence provides a safe and calm place where patients can reflect on their inner life, to discover what they are doing and why they are doing it. He sees his role as one of finding questions for the answers that the patients already have, answers they are often unaware of until the question is asked. We carry our own past within us, and much of the work of therapy is integrating our past with our present, including letting go of ways of thinking that harm us in the present. Terence has practiced Zen-style meditation for many years, and may bring this attitude into therapy especially in connection with the psychological idea of mindfulness, or a way of nonjudgmentally paying attention to your own reality “right now.” Analytic practice and mindfulness can form a powerful combination that allows patients to explore, discover, and connect with themselves as a truly whole person.
